Fourty-five Indians have lost their lives in the deadly fire that broke out in the “labour accommodation” in the Mangaf area of Kuwait in the early hours of Wednesday.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has announced a financial aid of Rs 5 lakh for each family of the seven Tamil Nadu residents who died in the tragic fire. Stalin expressed deep sorrow over the incident and assured expedited efforts to bring the deceased’s bodies back to India. Additionally, the state government will support those injured and receiving treatment.
Taking to his official X handle, Stalin posted on Thursday, “The news that seven Tamils have died in Kuwait fire is very painful. The Tamil Nadu government is making arrangements to bring the bodies of the deceased to India by private plane and hand them over to their families as soon as possible.”
He added, “I have extended my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and ordered a relief of Rs 5 lakh each to each family. The Government of Tamil Nadu will provide all necessary assistance to those undergoing treatment for burn injuries.”
The fire, which erupted in a densely populated area, has left a significant impact on the Indian community in Kuwait. The Indian embassy in Kuwait is coordinating with local authorities to facilitate the repatriation of the bodies and provide necessary assistance to the affected families.
The Tamil Nadu government has been in close contact with the Indian embassy to ensure timely and effective measures for the victims’ families.
