In a tragic and rare incident, a 54-year-old Indonesian woman named Jahrah was swallowed whole by a 22-foot python in Jambi province on the island of Sumatra. Jahrah was reported missing after she failed to return from her work at a rubber plantation. A search operation, involving local villagers and her husband, led to the discovery of her belongings near the plantation. The following day, a python with a noticeably swollen stomach was found and subsequently killed by the villagers, who then discovered Jahrah’s body inside the snake.
This incident, while shocking, is not the first of its kind in Indonesia, where large pythons are known to inhabit. Similar cases have been reported in the past, including an incident in 2017 where a man was found inside a 23-foot python. These snakes typically prey on smaller animals, but have occasionally been known to attack humans.
